Deadly suicide attack in Afghanistan leaves 18 dead including eight children


Kabul (afviews): Two deadly suicide attacks in Afghan capital Kabul and south-eastern Khost province leave at least 18 dead.

The first motorbike suicide attack accrued at the entrance gate of the Afghan Defence Ministry early Saturday mooring leaves at least nine people dead, official said.
10 more people, including security guard and civilians were wounded in tsuicide_attack_kabul_afghanistanhe attack that took place in the Pul-e-Mahmood Khan area.
General Zahir Azimi, spokesman of the Afghan defence ministry told reporters at the blast site that the attacker was riding a motorcycle.

This suicide attack comes at a time when the US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel was in Kabul for talk with Afghan authorities and NATO commanders.
Taliban claimed responsibility of this attack said that 15 Afghan security personals were killed.
Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement said, “This attack was a kind of message for Hagel.”

Weeks ago Taliban have rejected a report of the United Nations about civilian casualties in Afghanistan, but today once again Taliban’s another suicide bombers target Afghan innocent children in Khost province.
Hours after the Kabul attack, at least eight children and one policeman were killed when a suicide attacker target Afghan police and international forces joint patrol in south-eastern Khost province.
Colonel Sardar, commander of Rapid Action Police Force in Khost said, “The bomber targeted joint Afghan and International troops patrol in Kandi area on Khost City's, but eight passing children were killed and two more civilians were wounded and one police also lost his life.”

Officials said that the policeman hugged the suicide attacker before he blew himself up.
At the other hand, the Afghan Interior Ministry has said that nearly 20 Taliban insurgents were killed in a series of operation in the past 24 hours.
 “These operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Zabul, Urzgan, Ghazni and Paktia provinces, aimed to clean the areas from insurgents,” the ministry statement said. These operation conducted by the Afghan security forces.
